Tiling of the school floor
Dovalema has six classrooms that was built to support the learning of children ages 2-5, we are very thankful to the community in Mondema for the collective work of healing through learning, sharing meals, and embracing our indigenous values. We are also thankful for the partnership support SLFND has received from friends around the world. Last year, we received a partnership support from the Blake School in Minnesota, that fund was used to tile the veranda of the school building, which was a success; the classrooms have not been tiled due to funding. We have six classrooms and a kitchen we would like to tile. Tiling the floor of the classrooms will minimize the dust from the floor in which the children seat to gain their instruction. A tiled floor will allow for the children to play on the floor and promote a more healthy environment. Cost estimate to tile one classroom is $1000, that includes, the cost of the tiles, cement, sand, and labor required to do the work. |

Ubuntu Retreat Center
Ubuntu is the Pan African Philosophy which invokes the spirit of humanity. The Ubuntu Center in Mondema has been going through a series of design work developing a retreat facility for nationals and international participants who would like to find a quiet moment away for the buzzing and hustling of city life. Ubuntu Retreat Center will support meetings and gatherings that are in line with the values of care for the earth, care for people, and care for the future. The Ubuntu Retreat Center has 9 rooms, a camping ground, and we have began the construction of the Ubuntu Hall & the fire pit for members to have honest conversations that supports their programs, initiatives and values they represent. Cost estimate to complete one room at the Ubuntu Retreat Center is $700. |

Social Enterprises
Our Social Enterprises are geared towards training and supporting the village community members to acquire life skills they can use to support themselves and their families. At this time, we have the capacity to handle the first three of our social enterprises highlighted in the blue ring. We would like to grow our capacity first, and then expand to the other areas. There are many more areas of our social enterprises that are not listed on this flower, eg, Bee keeping, welding for women, Printing and photocopying, |
